Photo Journalism

Often, a single still image or a series of images is the best way to tell a story. Immersing myself in the stream of consciousness of the moment, letting them unfold unfold and making slices of time, that's my drive.

storytelling that reaches out to the heart of audiences

A photojournalist, documentary film maker and editor based in India, I am passionate about human stories with emotion, equally at home in the remote villages of rural India, the bustling metropolis or my quiet edit suite. An unassuming, genial nature, I tend to put people at ease before a camera or my edit suite, resulting in stories that touch the heart.

Using Archive Photos in Documentary Film

How I used Archival Photos in the documentary film Journeys

In making Journeys – the documentary film about El Shaddai Trust, a charity working with children in need in India, I had to rely on archival photographs for the sequences dealing with the organisation’s beginnings. This is inevitable when telling the history of an organisation. I was presented with a huge number of images in […]

A Passion for Storytelling

I've filmed in remote villages in the poorest districts of India (like Mewat in the north) and in the metropolis of Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore and have developed a deep understanding of and, more importantly, sensitivity for the widely diverse cultures and people of India.
With experience working for international TV and organisations, I offer a global perspective while being true to the emotions of the characters in my stories.
I have worked in all areas of filmmaking. From research, field interviews and camera work. Working solo, I am able to produce a features for projects requiring a small footprint – where subjects need to be put at ease, quick turnaround projects.
I also specialise in documentary film editing projects and collaborate with filmmakers, sometimes remotely.
This site will give you an idea of my style and areas of work. From features for television to documentaries and commercial spots for TV, I cannot turn down a good story! Do get in touch to talk about your specific project or collaboration. I don’t bite! Promise :)
