Balance. Jan 2025
Stacking rocks, or “cairn building,” holds deep philosophical significance across various cultures. For me trying to balance rocks is a meditative practice that keeps me in the present moment. As each attempt results in the pile coming crashing down I’m more aware of the delicate balance of life and the interconnectedness of all things.
Universally, this pile of rocks represents the human desire to create order and meaning in a chaotic world, a reminder of our ability to shape our environment and leave a mark, however temporary, on the world around us.
I see in the transient nature of these structures the impermanence of life, and so appreciate the present moment.
