
Boat on River. Jan 2025
Today, we headed down to a little village in the south called Velim. We were scheduled to film an interview with a historian for a documentary film I’m working on. I was there with my friend Shrinivas, a cinematographer and graphic designer. My daughter who is keen on photography as well as a pastry chef by qualification joined us along with my 15-year-old son who is, like me, into many things including video editing, coding, the violin and electric guitar – Nirvana, Metalica, Pink Floyd… 🙂
Since we had some time before the interview we headed to the Betul fort. There were a few cars in a very narrow road and no more parking available so we turned around and stopped by near the river. That’s where I made these images for the day.
Its makes me sad how little we really care about our archaeological sites as well as natural spaces. Preserving these spaces and making them more accessible so people can enjoy and learn seems to be so far from our minds. We have beaches in Goa like Calangute – once known as the Queen of Beaches. But they’ve been allowed to develop in unplanned ways making them a sad remnant of the past.
